What are my options if my bank has turned my application down?

Fri, 26 Oct 2007

Banks lending criteria are conservative but there are many lenders that will provide commercial mortgages or bridging loans to businesses where banks are reluctant to lend.

The mainstream banks' lending criteria are conservative and they generally do not lend on some types of property or to businesses which cannot provide three years worth of profitable accounts or which have an adverse credit history (County Court Judgements, Company Voluntary Arrangements or missed mortgage payments).
However there are a wide range of specialist lenders who will consider each of these situations and can lend where the banks will not.
